Dear Colleagues, On behalf of the Organizing Committee, I have the pleasure to invite you to participate in the 12th International Conference on Radiation Shielding (ICRS-12) & 17th Topical Meeting of the Radiation Protection & Shielding Division of ANS (RPSD-2012) which will be held at the Nara Prefectural New Public Hall in Nara (Japan) from 2nd to 7th September 2012. The Conference is organized by the international committee consists of AESJ, ANS/RPSD, RIST, KEK, ITN, RSICC and JAEA. This conference will open with a special session summarizing the facts and circumstances surrounding the Fukushima accident and consequent environmental assessment and recovery, in order to offer vital information on various issues on the monitoring of radiation and radioactivity, dose evaluation, radiation protection, environmental assessment and recovery, decommissioning, and other related topics. The special session will complement the conference topics as listed in the section below.
